Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was conceived in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her father who plays hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. Her career has seen her achieve twelve WTA singles championships. This includes a Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. The doubles play she plays is superb, and she won Majors at both the US Open (2019) and Australian Open (2021), each of them together with Elise Mertens. Also, she achieved the Sunshine Double in 2019, taking the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open with Elise Mertens. The feat only four pairs from women's doubles to accomplish it. She rose from second to third in singles world rankings on the 23rd of August in 2021. Her highest rank was also achieved in the month of the month of January in 2023. However, in doubles she climbed to the number one spot following her win at Melbourne in February the same year. Dmitry Tursunov, a former Russian tennis player, was her coach her during her 2018 season to the end and part of her 2020 campaign. There was a brief collaboration with Dieter Kindlmann between August and September 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her for the past few years, starting in 2020. Her top idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
